Inversion Table Review – A ton of people to say the least suffer from back pain every day. I have been dealing with Chronic Back Pain for many years as well. I have also purchased and used many products for back pain.  One of those products being an inversion table.

An inversion table review is something I have used in the past and they can definitely produce results. My experience with inversion therapy was with a physical therapist over several weeks. The days I would get therapy it felt great during and afterward for a short while. But it did not least for me so I did not bother buying an inversion table for home use.

Keep in mind, that was my experience. Just because it did not work out for me, that does not mean it will not work for you? I know others and a family member who swears by inversion therapy. They all do it from home because of the convenience and the money they end up saving.

I recommend to always you check with your doctor or a medical professional first before attempting inversion therapy.

What is an Inversion Table?

( Take Me to Price & Video )

A man is in question after reading an inversion table review.

Inversion tables are tables that are created to use the center of gravity to help relieve the pressure in your spine and other areas which often result in back pain or joint aches.

Inversion therapy is a spinal technique that angles the top of your body downward for a certain amount of minutes. Inversion therapy uses gravity and your own bodyweight to stretch and elongate your spine. This will alleviate the pressure of any compressed discs by decompressing them.

The process of inversion therapy is performed by using an inversion or traction table. These tables allow you to secure yourself to the table and then adjust the angle range in which the table tilts. You can remain in this inverted position for as long as you want. The usual time is no more than 15 minutes and that all depends on the angle you are at.

Many people undergo inversion therapy during visits to their chiropractors or physical therapists. However, times have changed. You can give yourself inversion therapy at home with an inversion table. It will save you the time you would otherwise spend going to an appointment. You buy an inversion table and that’s it for the money that needs to be spent.

How Inversion Therapy Relieves Chronic Back Pain

Inverting the body is a natural therapeutic process that has been used for many centuries for strength-building, pain-relief, stretching and more. Several doctors and therapists recommend inversion therapy.

The purpose behind inversion therapy is to counter the effects that gravity can have on your body. Gravity pulls your organs, muscles, and joints downward, and this compresses them against your spine. It’s believed that over time, this gravity can produce compression resulting in issues like chronic back pain.

Finding the cause of chronic back and other back pain sources can not always be determined. But spinal compression will often be a contributing factor. Many people are not very active, and end up sitting for long periods of time without much movement. Using a holistic approach like inversion therapy can help in reversing the effects of a non-active lifestyle by promoting movement.

Inversion therapy will alleviate pressure from the spine and increase the space between your vertebrae. This is viewed as a holistic approach to pain relief. Inversion therapy is used for chronic lower back pain, non-specific back pain, Sciatica pain, degenerative disc disease, and muscle tension.

Inversion Table Benefits

There are several health benefits you can get from inversion therapy via the best inversion table. The inversion table will stretch and release any tension from your muscles that are around the spine. If you do inversion therapy on a regular basis, it can give you other benefits besides pain relief. Such as reducing stress, improving your blood circulation and improving flexibility.

Maintaining Good Spine Health

A doctor is checking a mans spine.

A common reason that people experience back pain is due to their spinal alignment. If you are not maintaining good posture throughout the day, it will place unnecessary stress on your spine when it’s not aligned properly.

Massage and manipulation of your spine are techniques used to help relieve compression on the spine. Which can lead to better spine health over time. Inversion therapy is similar, as it inverts the body downward, and that allows for stretching from gravity’s pull.

Holistic wellness and natural pain management approaches are always good to explore if you are facing possible surgery for a bulging disc, sciatica, lumbar pain or other back problems. Inversion therapy could be a good solution for many people who would otherwise need to undergo a surgical procedure.

There have been several studies when it comes to chronic lower back pain. One study looked at how inversion therapy could help those who were in line to have lumbar surgery. The conclusion resulted in that “intermittent traction with an inversion device resulted in a significant reduction in the need for surgery.”

I can only draw from my experience and the first thing that comes to mind is the inversion therapy may be only putting a band-aid on the problem. But I know it can be very effective for pain relief as I stated above.

Inversion therapy produced temporary results for me. Getting permanent pain relief through inversion therapy is not something that has been scientifically proven. Inversion therapy is something you would use to get pain relief. How often you would need to use it would depend on your situation. Some people need it daily while others only need inversion therapy occasionally to curb their pain.

If you have an inversion table in your home it would allow you to invert whenever you want. This could really make a difference in keeping your back pain under control.  It may not totally resolve your problem but it could help you to avoid surgery if that’s something you do not want to undertake. Surgery is not always the answer and that’s speaking from experience. I have had several surgeries.

Increase Mobility and Reduce Stress

A lady sits on the floor with her arms over her head showing mobility.

The use of an inversion table can help to de-stress. When you put your head below your heart, it can activate your parasympathetic nervous system (PSNS) that is part of the nervous system, which is often referred to as the “Rest and Digest System”. It controls bodily activities that take place when you are at rest. Such as digestion, salivating, and crying.

It stands to reason that if you have back pain you want to avoid physical activity. I know this first hand, especially when that physical activity makes the pain worse. However, remaining stagnant will only make your back pain worse. Doing nothing may feel like the right thing to do at the moment. But in the long run, you are setting yourself up for more pain. Being active does not mean doing a full-blown workout.

The easiest form of exercise you can do is walk, so get up off that sofa and start walking, even if it is just around the house. Break it up and walk 5 to 10 minutes a couple of times a day. A little really does go a long way. Maintaining your mobility if you suffer from back pain is crucial. Inversion therapy, combined with exercise, has and still is producing good results for many people.

Need to Know Before Buying An Inversion Table

This is an image of a clip board on a table with the text "Objective" on a white piece of paper.

If you’re interested in having inversion therapy in your home, then investing in your own inversion table is a good viable option. Inversion tables are generally considered safe to use, providing your health is good. Before purchasing an inversion table it is always a good idea to check with your doctor first just to be safe. Be open and let them know what you plan on doing.

Inversion therapy does require your head to be below your heart. This type of therapy is not recommended if you have high blood pressure, heart disease or glaucoma. However, this does not necessarily mean you can not do inversion therapy. But this is all the more reason you should check with your doctor first before using an inversion table.

When using inversion therapy in your home, you have the freedom of trying different angles and duration’s to find the best settings that work for you. You might want to begin conservatively with an angle at 10 degrees then steadily increase the inversion from there. Using an inversion table in your home gives you advantages, that would otherwise not be possible.
